I have only been able to go 3 times in the past week, and each time it was WAY too hot for any movement much from the deer. Did find a HUGE scrape and rub just below my stand though, and saw the nice buck that did it....hes not an 8 like I thought before....hes a nice 10 :) Hope to show you pics soon of him now that this cold weather is arriving.

At 9:37pm on September 29, 2007, Jason Steelman said…: Well this morning, I overslept as my alarm didn't go off, and got in the stand at 7am (way too late) and saw nothing.....went back this evening around 5pm with my cousin (who should be joining us here pretty soon) and didnt see a dang thing. It was about dark and we decided to call it a night. I said to him, Okay, Murphys Law, as soon as we are ready, we will see something. Sure enough I just lowered my bow down, he whispers, Look behind you. I turn around, and there stands a buck in the cornpile eating away. Was a pretty good sized body buck, probably only a 6 pointer though.

As I told my cousin, that deer and I shall dance again on Monday night. :)

My dad and I are going tomorrow morning to the stand where we've found some HUGE scrapes and rubs (And Ive seen a pretty nice 8 pointer) so hopefully Ill be sharing those pictures with you tomorrow morning at some point. Im taking the video camera with me to tape whatever we see as well (dont know why I say tape when its a CD :) )

At 11:45pm on September 27, 2007, rick said…: we drew 7 mule deer tags and 2 of my girls drew elk tags. my wife also has a 2nd season bull tag for elk.getting tags sometimes is really hard but if u hunt with a bow they are easy to get in most of the state. it took me 20 years to get a antelope tag for a gun.
