a friend got a bull and when they got back it was dark so they took some pictures and when they got the elk out and back to camp they looked at the pictures and there was a cat on the limb about 6' above them and they never knew it but you sure could see it in the pictures. not good

not here sometimes after we kill an animal and we hike out to get stuff to cut up the animal to pack it out, there are tracks aruond the kill site. it is a ery feeling to know you may be being watched.

yea that would suck. here we have cougurs and i carry a 380 auto when bow hunting i do not like those big cats.they are really killing the deer and elk here.the animal freaks have made it illegal to hunt them with dogs. now they are every where

Thanks for the reply to my blog post. Means something to me that someone is actually reading them :) I got some video of 4 does last night, but nothing exciting. Never saw the bucks last night, but with the full moon gone now, and the temperatures dropping, I fully expect to in the next day or two.

that is a good gun for that long of a shot. a lot of people use that gun here it is also a good elk gun. i shoot a 300 mag it will knock down a elk fast. but most of the time i hunt with a bow.

its nice to have you join our group of hunters and you will have a blast hunting deer. this last saturday my 13 year old daughter got her first deer,and i was one happy dad. do you with a gun or bow?

About Me:
I am 24 years old, I grew up in Marrero, Louisiana. I was an avid duck hunter earlier in life and made many a woodduck kills with my father. Recently I have begun hunting deer and this will be my first season doing so.

I also happen to be a hardcore fan of the greatest college on the planet. The LSU Tigers. I bleed purple and gold.

Trip up to the lease.

Well, made our trip up to the lease this past weekend. Got up there late friday evening and got some shut eye. Woke up about 6:00 or so saturday morning and went out to the squirrel spot. Saw a few black squirrels but there is still too much green up in the trees. Couldn't get a shot off on any of them. My father shot a couple of rabbits and saw three hogs. Here we go!

Man, I can't wait for this weekend. The summer is over and as far as I know, all of our serious work is done up at the hunting lease. We acquired some new land from the people next to our lease from last season and we now have 4800 acres to hunt on. Our lease is located in Nebo, Louisiana. We now have 40 members this season and it looks to be a good season. Everyone is getting along fine and we have a bunch of new faces and that is always fun.
